They like to play with balls, lick their fur, keep their nose clean, love to have fish, be lazy and sleep for almost twelve hours a day and of course hate to take a bath! Yes it’s your favorite ,just as lazy as you, pet! Your kitty! The soft ball of love. The felidae family of the animal kingdom, the same family as that of the ferocious tiger! But not as wild as the other members of the family, these animals generally remain quiet but get alert or may even attack when provoked but they are very friendly with their breeders or owners.

Cats are often known for their companionship with humans. It might be true that cats are one of the most adorable creatures on the planet. How can anybody forget Sheldon Cooper’s “Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur, beautiful kitty, bad kitty, purr purr purr” Like always if you are thinking of getting these adorable creatures in your home, make sure you are well aware of the habits, diet and everything necessary for your good relationship with your new member. 10.  Siamese

Siamese cats are incredibly adorable cats with beautiful blue coloured eyes. They are very friendly animals and like to maintain a comfortable relationship with their owners and like to laze in the house. They have the nature like ‘Chatty Cathy’ and use its body to understand the facial activities and communication of the owners. They have a very sleek and tender body but are very delicate to handle. They are very stubborn and demanding cats and want to keep winning like a baby.

They can be taught tricks like to fetch and retrieve objects, it is easy to train them and even they enjoy doing it.  They can take time to adjust but when they are satisfied, they become the most loyal creatures. They are also very athletic animals and like playing outdoors to build strong bond and loving relationship with the owner. They also like to snuggle with you and your pillow at bedtime. So you will have to be a little patient with your new Siamese cat to develop a unique relationship. It is interesting to note that, you can’t really buy a Siamese cat or own it. They are too independent for it. Feel lucky if one of them owns you! Even Queen Elizabeth II was gifted a Siamese cat as her wedding gift.

 

9.  Manx

This breed of cat is differentiated from others by their lack of a tail or sometimes a small tail like those police dogs but that doesn’t make any difference to their beauty and nature. They are extrovert in nature and enjoy interacting with their master. These cats become a very good friend of yours if you pay attention to them, like all pets they need your time and care to grow into togetherness and companionship. Here’s something about Manx; they are extremely sociable, which makes them comparable to dogs in loyalty and companionship.

 

8.  Ragdoll

These cats have a very soft body and yet can grow up to weigh nearly twenty pounds nevertheless they  are lovable oafs! They are a lazy, don’t like to play around much and are very sensitive in nature. They cannot defend themselves from a dog or any other predator and so they should not be left alone, if you are heading out for work or anything. Ragdolls like to take a limp in the arms of their owner that’s why they are called ‘Ragdoll’.

 

7.  Persian

These cats are very lazy and have their bodies covered with huge fur and soft hair so they need proper maintenance. They don’t like to roam around much and prefer the warmth of their basket but they want to be loved and played with. These cats have such beautiful hair that you wouldn’t want to take them out in dirt.

You can find them licking or cleaning their fur themselves. They are much pampered cats and like to be groomed regularly but of course like all cats they stay away from water. They have a very gentle nature and love to be the attention seeker and would do anything to grab spot light when they are with humans. Persians if given proper care along with regular visit to the vet and good nutrition can even live upto fifteen to twenty years!

 

6.  Maine Coon

The Maine Coon, has distinctive features and esteemed skills. They have a prominent “M” on their brow. They can have polydactyl.  They are very joyful creatures and like to play tricks all the time and will surely surprise you. They get along really well with almost everyone. They keep you entertained by making sound like birds or by playing the “dead-game”. They are playful animals but are also very loyal towards their masters. And here’s the most interesting fact; unlike all the cats, they like to play in water.

 

5. Turkish Angora

Turkish Angora cats have a silky tail, no undercoat and a balanced body type. Turkish angora cats can have one of more than twenty colors including black, blue, and reddish fur and need regular grooming.These are very intelligent and active cats and like to interact a lot. They have either blue eyes or amber colored eyes and blue eyed are deaf. If they have one blue and one amber eye then the blue side will be deaf. They are also very mischievous cats and need constant attention to stay out of trouble.

 

4. Abyssinian

In ancient Egypt, Abyssinian was seen as Egyptian Gods and was therefore a sacred cat! These cats are very athletic as they can jump or climb very high as compared to other cats. They have a long muscular body with beautiful eyes shaped like almonds. As much as they are active, they can sometimes become destroyers too. They should be kept under care and constant watch if you have to save your precious possessions from being broken or even your food being eaten. The Abyssinian is a breed of domesticated cat with a extraordinary ticked coat. Abyssinian’s are extrovert in nature, active, playful, wistful and intelligent. They are not “lap cats”, because they are too preoccupied with exploring and playing games.

 

3. Bengal

The Bengal is a breed of fun-loving cats. They have a ‘leopard look’ or have spots on their skin. They vary in colours from brown to copper or grey. These are very intelligent and active. The Bengal cat has a desirable “wild” appearance with large spots. These are very energetic cats and like playing, jumping and climbing. They are very sincere in nature and can be trained very easily too. The name “Bengal cat” was derived from the taxonomic name of the Asian leopard cat, and should not be confused with the more distantly related Bengal tiger.

 

2. Himalayan

The Himalayan breed of cats are very cheeky and beautiful with large round eyes. They are very sensitive and make sweet expressions like small children. They should be regularly brushed and bathed to avoid matting. They are very calm cats and are most likely to have kidney disorders. They have short legs so they cannot jump or climb like other cats do but they are very friendly and sweet-natured cats.

The Munchkin is a relatively new breed of cat characterized by their different personality. They like to fight with their companions and even play with them but after all the tiring activities of the day, they need soft hands on them and loads of cuddling and snuggling, just like other cats.

The Munchkins are said to be a sweet and lovable-natured , playful, naughty, outgoing and intelligent which responds well to being handled with love and are excellent hunters too. The Munchkin has similar characteristics to normal cats. It is a medium sized cat with a moderate body type and medium-plush coat and resemble somewhat Persian.
